Discovery Live Force on a Split Face

  I split a face of my model in Discovery Live and then tried to put a force normal to that split face, but it didn't seem to have any effect. I constrained the other end of my model (essentially putting the model in compression) but there were no stresses computed no matter how high I made my force value. Any reason why this may happen?
