Discovery R2 display issue

Hello, I have a graphics driver issue ( perhaps). I run Discovery on  Dell 7920 station with two NVIDIA RTX 5000 cards and the latest nVidia drivers. Discovery starts with an  Welcome Screen and when I close it Discovery shuts down because of error. See the attachment. As the same time Space Claim works as expected.   Would you help, please? Can I change some Discovery settings?   Kind regards, Boryan

Hello Boryan1965 A similar issue like this was observed in earlier version, which was expected to have been resolved. I will confirm once with the team and developers if it is seen again. I would need more information though, to understand better, are you facing this as you open and close discovery, or after you do the simulation, save and then close it? There isn't an issue with SpaceClaim if I am right? Can you go to Settings>General>Default stage for new documents and change it to Model mode? And then launch it again, and see if you face the same issue. Just to rule out the possibility, make sure whether while installing run as administer was used, as a last resort we can try doing that. Let me know if these things work, in the mean time I will check with the team. Regards

      Hello,

I have installed Discovery as an admin. Also, I have changed to Model as proposed but the error still persists.

It is a brand new installation on Discovery on a brand new Dell 7920 machine.

So far I have not been able to run even a single simulation due of the error. At the moment I close Discovery welcome scream,  Discovery issues a warning for the error and suggests quitting. If I ignore it, the screen will stay  pitch black, i.e.  the grid is missing.

Space Claim works just fine though.

      Best regards,

      Boryan

Boryan1965 If the issue looks like this, without the error, can you please do the changes as mentioned in the knowledge document? Let me know if this helps. Regards.

Charudatta Bandgar , The error is like the  described one  in some extent. I have installed this morning the latest available NVIDIA driver 472.39, but the error persists yet.   Kind rgerads, Boryan

      Hello,

The issue above has not been resolved yet. What else I could try?

      Kind regards,

      Boryan

      Hello Boryan1965

      Apologies for delay in response.

To specify between NVIDIA and Integrated GPU

Go into the NVIDIA Control Panel (i.e. right click on your PC desktop, or through Windows search option).

Then go to "Manage 3D settings"

There will be 2 tabs, "Global settings" and "Program settings"

Go to "Program settings", and if Discovery is not listed, Click Add.  If its not in that list, go to Browse and find the executable in your install directory.

The 2nd drop down should be a list of your cards, choose the one and click Apply.

Let me know if this helps. I am also discussing with the team, to understand it better.

      Regards.

      Hello,

Thank you for the suggestions.  Unfortunately they did not work. Discovery was already  in NVIDIA  panel Program setting list and I have previously set separate video cards for Discovery and Space Claim.

      Kind regards,

      Boryan

Hello,   I have installed the latest nVidia driver and the Discovery error described in my previous posts has gone away. Unfortunately the grid in Design mode is missing and solids are not visible. See the attachments. Any ideas how to mitigate this issue will be highly appreciated!     !   Thank you in advance, Boryan
