SubscriberHello,
I would like to do Modal Analysis of a component in ANSYS DIscovery AIM. However, I got following error -
*** ERROR *** CP = 222.266 TIME= 18:54:05
There is not enough memory for the Distributed Sparse Matrix Solver to
proceed using the out-of-core memory mode. The total memory required
by all processes = 51056 MB. The total physical memory that is
available on the system = 29030 MB. Please decrease the model size,
or run this model on another system with more physical memory.*** ERROR *** CP = 222.266 TIME= 18:54:05

SubscriberHi RD
How many nodes are there in your meshed model.
The computational requirement to solve a problem in Discovery AIM is directly dependent on the number of nodes in your model. The error message indicates that the problem you are working on is more complex than what the hardware in use can handle.
For most of the cases, this is triggered by the use of extremely fine elements to mesh the model. Reducing the mesh count by using relatively coarser elements, should help you do away the problem.
Also, please let me know the configuration of the machine you are using (RAM and available disc space on the drive where model is saved).
Thanks & Regards,
Gaurav

SubscriberHello Gaurav_ANSYS
I reduced the mesh size from 0.001 to 0.01. With this, I was able to make a run.
I think, this has helped to reduce the no. of nodes.
Thank you for your help.
Regards,
RD
