      Hi Support,

I know this has been covered numerous times but I'm having an issue with Initially opening a spaceclaim file (scdoc)

So SpaceClaim isn't open anywhere. I double click on an scdoc from Windows explorer and get the following message.

If I double click on a STEP file or any other file associated to SpaceClaim I have no problems.

Also once SpaceClaim is open I can double click an scdoc and it will open the file in a new tab as I want.

Why when SpaceClaim isn't open does this message come up when double clicking an scdoc.

I have searched the registry for every instance -spaceclaim.exe" "%1" and changed it to the correct value and still no luck??

      Hello Tim Dukes

I have been discussing this double click issue with the development team and will update you as I have some information on this. Till then, I would request you to use the workaround that you have identified.

      Thankyou.

In 2021 the message is slightly different when double clicking see below if this helps at all.

      Hi Tim Dukes

Sorry for getting back to you late on this query.

I have submitted BUG 438860 for this issue. Meanwhile, I would request you to open the SpaceClaim application and then open the file using File menu or using drag and drop option.

      Hi Naresh Patre

      Thankyou.

I did manage to fix it eventually.

Basically searched the whole registry for every instance of spaceclaim.exe" "%1"

      Then changed all to "C:Program FilesANSYS Incv211scdmspaceclaim.exe" "%1" "/USERUNNINGSPACECLAIM=true" /UseLicenseMode=true

This fixed the issues but will most likely have to be done for every new version.
