SubscriberHi all,
often we found this strange behavior.
I've already set my drawing option for all the new drawings, but when I generate the new drawing sheet the option are completely lost.
The software has been installed as admin and I've already tried to setup on different hard drive.
How can I do to fix it?

Is there a default template defined in SC Options > Support Files? A template with a drawing sheet would carry its own options.

SubscriberBrian Bueno ...there isn’t....but never set these options in scdot or template ... something is changed?
If yes I have never seen documentation about this...in case... may you send it to us?

The .scdot can carry both the model space and drawing sheet(s) so that when File > New > Design is selected everything is prepared when the design is opened (model, drawing sheets, and format).
You just need to create all the items as if you had a model present and save the .scdot.

SubscriberBrian Bueno ... nothing to do...We already tried even these ... we noticed also that the problem appears specially when we open a step file ... after this all the settings are lost....
We think that there is some problem on the writing of the register....or a sort of bug...!!

SubscriberBrian Bueno Subashni ... I'm sorry if I'm insistent but the last customer which complained this behavior is really angry ... is a bit of time that we find in this mistake and always we proposed the solutions you are suggesting us right now but honestly even to us randomly appears again and again ... please give us a feedback (even a number of bug) that we can forward to the customer...but something tangible.

It is still unclear to me what the problem is here, so I will review the video one step at a time:
- [00:04] We see the default options for an empty design. Primary precision = 0. These options are being applied to each new design.
- [:29] Convert 1.01108.0 to external component. This file takes the options from the parent assembly. Primary precision = 4
- [:40] Open component and create a drawing sheet. Place dimension with precision = 4
- [:56] Set precision for "this document" to 0. Dimensions (existing and new) are updated correctly
- [1:15] Delete the drawing sheet
- [1:23] Set options for "all new documents". Primary precision = 0
- [1:40] Examine options for Units. "This sheet" = "Settings same as document"
- [1:47] General detailing options appear to be using ASME standard.
- [2:03] Set options to ISO Default for All New Documents and close SC
I think the confusion here is the terminology. "All New Documents" refers to new designs created with File > New > Design, not drawing sheets added to an existing design.
After the drawing is created, properties can be assigned individually by sheet using "This Sheet", but initially the drawing will always take the properties from the parent document where it is created.

SubscriberHello Brian Bueno .
Thank you for your explanation about the Video.
Anyway we still have the problem ... randomly the setting is lost .... it's hard to find a set of operations to follow to give you .... but for example ... if I set (with no one file opened) the option as "first angle" as projections i close SpaceClaim and open it again ... sometimes this option is lost. What I've seen is that if I open a STEP file this is more frequent as issue.

SubscriberBrian Bueno Hi Brian, it often happens that those who use spaceclaim and discovery live when one opens first and then the other resets the user settings data

This should have been resolved in release 19.2, or 2019 R1 at the latest. The folder structure where the options are saved should be totally different.
In the past, all the options were stored together so one file would overwrite the other if both programs were opened simultaneously.
