Dynamic mesh Vs. Static mesh

      Hello,

I finished the simulation of a hydraulic poppet valve, in both dynamic and stepped static (each 0.2mm valve lift).

I then tabulated the flow rate and notice that dynamic mesh has slightly higher values, but I am not confident of the quality of the mesh.

So If I am to compare static mesh reading with the dynamic mesh one at a specific valve lift (middle position for instance) should they have the same value and the static mesh take into consideration the moving inertia of the fluid exactly as dynamic mesh, I mean isn't dynamic mesh is merely a group of static meshes simulations?

Thanks in advance, I have been thinking about it for a long time

What do you mean by stepped static mesh? Are you running steady-state simulations by varying the geometry by steps?

If that's the case, Dynamic mesh is inherently unsteady so I do not expect your results to line up exactly with stepped static mesh results.

hello, thanks for replying, yes that's my case.
