Good afternoon,

I'm running into an issue getting these edges of a mid surface model to exhibit bonded contacts. I've tried automatic and manual contacts, and increasing the mesh density, with no success. Is there a reason these edges aren't bonding?

Open the geometry in SpaceClaim. On the Workbench tab, click the Share button. You should see all the edges that touch, highlighted to show they will be shared. After you click the green check mark, edges will be color coded for how many surfaces are sharing each edge.

Open the model in Mechanical. Most of the bonded contact is no longer needed so delete that. There may be only a few areas that need bonded contact or a Fixed Joint.

Thanks for the response. Is there a similar function available through Design Modeler?

In DesignModeler, in the Outline, select all the surface bodies, right click and select Form New Part. That creates Shared Topology.

So these two parts in questions are different thicknesses. Would that be a problem if I Form New Part?

No, each body can have its own thickness.
