Effect of bolt pretension on natural frequency of a system

  In case of tensile preload, natural frequency of the system increases and on the other hand it decreases with compressive load. How does the bolt pretension affect the natural frequency? I found slight decrement in frequency with simple lap joint model. Is it because of compressive load offered because of bolt pretension?
