SubscriberHi Peter,
I am running a Student Ansys version, won't it be possible to download the Ekill extension for free or do you know what I should do?
Kind Regards,

SubscriberHi Taha,
ACT extensions are not available to Student license users.
Please describe the problem you are trying to analyze.
There may be an alternative approach that provides similar understanding of the problem.
Regards,
Peter

SubscriberHi Peter,
I wanted to simulate a hole being drilled (in steps of depth) in a rectangular plate with load and without load

SubscriberHi Taha,
A drill tip has an edge that cuts a chip from the metal.
Are you interested in simulation of the chip cutting?
I found this thesis on the topic of metal cutting and this report.
What response are you trying to predict?
What type of analysis were you trying to use?
When you say with load, do you mean the down force on the tool?
Have you looked at Explicit Dynamics? The videos below uses that.

SubscriberHi Peter,
Sorry for the late reply,
I am trying to perform element birth and death between load steps to observe the relaxtion of the material. I think it is possible by using Mechanical APDL but never used it so I am unsure it is possible.
Kind Regards,
Taha
