SubscriberIt's a simple simulation about heart valve. I simply add pressure to the leaflet surface in a static structural. The leaflets are created by ACP and bonded to the aorta by MPC.
But the simulation always can not get converged with an error of "element XXX highly distorted". Sometimes the element seems to be ok, as the picture shown.
In simulations, large deflection is always turned on.
I have changed these ways:
1.mesh element size from 0.2 to 1.6 mm.
2.turn on auto time step and increase the substep number of each step to 5000.
3.set Newton-Raphson option as unsymmetric.
4.set the bond contact formulation as pure penalty with 0.1 normal stiffness
5.use the direct solver.
6.use shell elements for simulation
But all these never worked out. Because the leaflets are created by acp, I wonder is it possible to use the NLAD?
I would appreciate it if anyone can give me some advise. Here is one of my test projects without solution.

Forum ModeratorHi,
Ansys employees cannot download the model. Can you try increasing the mesh size and see if that helps? Also, please see if you can share the snapshots of boundary conditions.
Regards,
