  Can anyone tell me what is the function that ansys uses to calculate the dissipated energy per unit volume while using the damage Intitiation criteria "maximum Stress"
  And using the damage evolution law "material property Degradation"?
  
  And also is what is the dissipated energy ? like is it the Damping energy or elastic or plastic energy ?
  
  I need it for my bachelor thesis
