SubscriberHello,
I upgraded to the ANSYS License Manager 2020 R2. No hardware or renaming has occurred on it. Upon adding a License file I received the following:
Error: This type of license file must be appended to the end of the existing license file that is already installed on your machine. However, the SERVER information in the new license file does not match the SERVER information in the existing license file, as is required. Therefore, this license file will not be installed.
Thank you,
Andrew

Ansys EmployeeHello TIOAAC
This error usually occurs when you are trying to install an evaluation license file onto a license server that is already running an ANSYS license file.
The SERVER line information in the current and evaluation license file may not match.
For example, the current license file may read:
SERVER licserverPC 123456789012 1055
But the evaluation license could read:
SERVER licserverPC DISK_SERIAL_NUM=12345678 1055
Please ensure that the host name and host ID in the current and new license files match. Request a new evaluation license file if necessary to ensure that the SERVER information matches.
Use the Capture License Server Information utility at
http://www.ansys.com/Support/Licensing/Capture+License+Server+Information
to ensure you are using a hostid that will work with the ANSYS license manager.
