SubscriberHi,
I am trying to set up my student version of Ansys. I have run into the issue that my spaceclaim does not exist/is not active it seems.
A quick browse of the forum lead me to this thread:
https://forum.ansys.com/forums/topic/spaceclaim-not-active-in-my-ansys-19-2/
I followed up to the point they stopped responding. It did not have a solution.
I went into %appdata% and into my SpaceClaim folder.
There is no 19.2 Folder (or 19.4 I think that is the version I have)
There is no SCDM19.2 folder (or 19.4)
The only file I see in this location is giprof.out
I attached a screengrab.
Install package is:
ANSYSACADEMICSTUDENT_2019R2_WINX64
The directory I have it installed in is:
C:Program FilesANSYS IncANSYS Studentv194

Ansys EmployeeHi SkyLeopard,
Can you launch stand-alone SpaceClaim ? Open CMD Prompt, then copy paste the following command
"C:Program FilesANSYS Incv194SCDMSpaceClaim.exe"
Please also post the screenshot of the error message about Spaceclaim.core.dll
Thanks,
Win

SubscriberHi Win,
I was unable to enter that into the command prompt. I had to cd into Ansys Student. There didnt seem to be a direct path from ANSYS Inc to v194 using your
"C:Program FilesANSYS Incv194SCDMSpaceClaim.exe"
I got there in the command prompt using:
"C:Program FilesANSYS IncANSYS Student/v194/SCDM"
Upon entering SpaceClaim.exe I got what is in attached image 1.
Error message (upon opening) screenshot is image 2.
Just the error message is image 3.
Screenshots of files (that i think are relevant) in SCDM are images 4&5

Ansys EmployeeWhoops , sorry I provided the wrong path, I forgot this is ANSYS Student.
Yea, you were right to go to C:Program FilesANSYS IncANSYS Studentv194SCDM
the main issue here is that you don't have SpaceClaim.exe for some reason even though you have a bunch of other files.
I would recommend to uninstall this and make sure to completely remove C:Program FilesANSYS Inc folder before reinstalling it.
Now, make sure you turn off all security software like Firewall or Anti-virus, etc. Then reinstall the software with 'run as administrator'
Once finished, check if you have C:Program FilesANSYS IncANSYS Studentv194SCDMspaceclaim.exe
Thanks,
Win

SubscriberI installed it again. It seems I missed a folder when deleting on my last install. I just opened a project and so far everything seems to be working.
