I am currently designing a hybrid brushless exciter. At the moment the design is experiencing a high cogging torque. I am trying to mitigate this by making use of rotor skew. When I apply skew to the model (15deg), and proceed to analyse, I encounter an error saying that it cannot be analysed with an ECE in the external circuit, and should instead make use of an ECER.
I have searched the web, manuals, tutorials, lectures, YouTube, and alas - nothing has been of assistance.
The cogging torque can be seen below:March 17, 2022 at 3:46 pmDELIAnsys Employee, this feature is not available in current versions, and will be supported in 2022R2.

Boost Ansys Fluent Simulations with AWS
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) helps engineers design products in which the flow of fluid components is a significant challenge. These different use cases often require large complex models to solve on a traditional workstation. Click here to join this event to learn how to leverage Ansys Fluids on the cloud, thanks to Ansys Gateway powered by AWS.
