SubscriberHi everyone, I'm trying to run a direct optimisation for a composite structure using the ACP Prepost and Static Structural Analysis modules. I have many input parameters for ply angles and number of layers, with the optimisation goals to minimise weight, deformation and ply failure index. However, I'm getting an error when I try to run my optimisation that I can't solve. An example of this error message reads:
(DP 0) An unexpected error occurred during tidy-up after updating design points: Data entity not found: /Model 2/SimulationModelGeneratedPMDB:SimulationModelGeneratedPMDB
Does anyone have any idea what this is/how to fix it?

Ansys EmployeeHi Benjamin,
are you using Design Explorer or Ansys optiSLang for the optimization?
Does all design fail or only a few of them?Best regards,
Markus-

SubscriberHi Markus,
I am using Direct Optimisation in Design Explorer. Unfortunately optiSLang isn't working for me. Whenever I try to drag and drop optiSLang onto my project, it appears to buffer for a second and then nothing happens.
As for your second question, the optimisation fails immediately on the first design point and terminates the optimisation process.
Best Regards,
Benjamin

Ansys EmployeeHi Benjamin,
regarding optiSLang: Which version Ansys Workbench and optiSLang Version are you working with? And did you checked, if you have a license available?
regarding Direct Optimisation in Design Explorer:
Then your porcess does not seem to work properly. Did you try to set up a couple of designs in the "Table of Design Points" and execute them manually? I would work here first before staring the optimization. You an "Retain" data and see if errors appear. If yes, you can go the the DP and have a closer look to the problem.Best regards,
Markus
