SubscriberDear all,
I have installed the ANSYS 2019R2 for both Centos 7 and Ubuntu recently. The installation succeeded but when I trying to open "Geometry" (DesignModular) under Workbench. Both of them (the Centos 7 and Ubuntu version) pops up an error message saying "Error while loading the DockingPane). I have ANSYS 19.0 installed for these systems previously, and they have NO problems. Also, ANSYS Fluent 2019R2 works in these systems too. Please help!
Thanks,
Alan

Ansys EmployeeHi Alan,
Are you physically using this machine or you use some kind of remote access tool to access it ?
Also, try this: Close all ANSYS applications , then rename ~/.mw/Application Data/Ansys/ and ~/.ansys/
Thanks,
Win

Ansys EmployeeHi Alan,
Let's focus on CentOS 7.
Did you install redhat-lsb ?
Is there any .err files under (default) /ansys_inc ?
Please post the screenshot of the error including the Workbench interface or surrounding areas.
Thanks,
Win

SubscriberGood afternoon Win,
Installation of "redhat-lsb" resolved the problem in CentOS 7! Thanks!
I tried to use the same trick for Ubuntu: "apt-get install lsb-core". Unfortunately, it does not resolve the problem. I found the /ansys_inc (for Ubuntu version) has an error file: Install.err.tmp. Here is what it says:

Error executing configuration script '/usr/ansys_inc/v194/commonfiles/configs/linx64/config/AnsConfigRSM.sh'

Ansys EmployeeHi Alan,
I think the root cause of that readlink error is similar to what Jake described in here
https://forum.ansys.com/forums/topic/installation-of-ansys-19-4-structures-2019-r2-on-kubuntu-19-4-freezes-at-arcnode/
I would recommend to just stick with your CentOS.
Thanks,
Win
