Error with lumerical license activation.

      Hello,

      I am a Ph.D. student at USC and want to use Lumerical FDTD for simulations. We have purchased an ANSYS Academic Lumerical Research (1 task). The High Performance Computing has installed the license manager and the software for our use on USC supercomputer cluster, but we are not able to run simulations . On submitting a job I get the following error:

      The people at USC-HPC have said that the license server is up and running. Here is what they have sent:

      Please make sure the port for the ansyslmd daemon is open on the license server firewall.Starting with 2021R1 the applications must communicate through ansyslmd and lmgrd.

      You can set ansyslmd to a static port by adding it in the license file on the VENDOR line.

      For example:
      VENDOR ansyslmd PORT=1056

      From the client machine where you are trying to run Lumerical, please try to telnet to the license server on the 2 licensing ports to confirm connectivity. To test the access, you can use one of these options, please try for the lmgrd port and ansyslmd port, modify the command to replace "192.168.0.1" with the license server hostname.

      Just to add, your error message indicates that you are trying to checkout a license feature that is not on your license server Feature:FDTD_Solutions_engine
      Vendor:Host:hpc-dns
      License path:1055@hpc-dns:
      You will need Lumerical/FDTD version 2021 R1 to be able to checkout the license from your Ansys license server, 1055@hpc-dns. And configure Lumerical to obtain the license from Ansys (standard) LM.
      If you do not have GUI access to the cluster, set the license configuration as shown in this article. Where domain=2 for the Ansys (Standard) license server.
