SubscriberI am the beginner of EXPLICIT DYNAMICS.
I inserted a CAD model in ansys which includes a roll cage (vehicle chassis) and a rigid wall for impact test.
I have a problem that it shows 71 parts, 71 bodies instead of 2 parts , 2 bodies. I just want to fix it. Please help anyone ASAP.
Thankyou.

SubscriberIn Workbench, right click on the Geometry cell and select Edit in DesignModeler.
In DesignModeler, at the bottom of the outline it will show the 71 parts. Select the 70 that are not the wall and right click to pick Form New Part. You will now have 2 parts and 71 bodies.
This is only useful if the bodies share topology. In other words, two parts touch and they have identical edges or faces.
Are they solid bodies or sheet bodies?

Ansys EmployeeI am glad that Peters suggestion worked out. I am moving this thread under student competition category since you are working on Roll cage for BAJA SAE.
