SubscriberI am working with a local school and they need to export the discovery files to get them 3d printed and need an engineering drawing to submit for coursework. Any ideas?

Ansys EmployeeIf you’re using Teaching keys there should be an option for dxf export. For printing stl should be suitable.
With Student it's a bit less simple as none of the CAD writers were included in the build. However, the files are identical so can be read into a Teaching/Research/Commercial version of the code.

SubscriberHi, I have a full version of Spaceclaim Engineer, but I cannot read the student discovery files as it says that the files are saved with a newer version.

Ansys EmployeeIf you're on TECS you should be able to install the new version and then transfer the files. You can have multiple versions so it'll not be an issue if you're using an older build for project work.

SubscriberNot sure about TECS, I am in the UK and have made contact with the person who allocated my licence. I am a STEM ambassador trying to support schools and encourage use, but without this access, they cannot make use of the software.

Ansys EmployeeOK, if you ask them to speak to me (I think there are only two Rob's in the UK so it'll not be a problem) we'll see what we can do. The limitation is there to stop people doing what you're doing for commercial gain. I'm in and out a bit but should be on email most days over the next couple of weeks.
