Ansys EmployeeThe Mechanical Fatigue Tool (FT) is not available with all license levels. Where you previously able to access the FT with a Student license?

SubscriberSorry Daniel. I found out that Fatigue tool is not supported with symmetry boundary condition which I had used in the setup. After I removed the symmetry and scaled down my model to meet student license limits, I was able to use the Fatigue tool.

Ansys EmployeeYes, you are correct that the FT cannot be used with symmetry boundary conditions. That limitation is documented. Sorry for not mentioning it, but I did not see a Symmetry Condition in the Mechanical Tree. The FT is blocked when the tree has a Symmery Object, because it cannot be used with cyclic symmetry. If you need general symmetry, you can impose a Frictionless Support on the symmetry face rather than using a Symmetry Object. The FT works fine with a Frictionless Support. It is the presence of the Symmetry Object in the tree that blocks access to the FT.

Boost Ansys Fluent Simulations with AWS
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) helps engineers design products in which the flow of fluid components is a significant challenge. These different use cases often require large complex models to solve on a traditional workstation.
