Subscriber您好,我设计了沿着传输方向上紧密相连的两个波导,现在尝试计算这两个波导基模之间的耦合效率。首先我使用FDE计算了重叠积分最大的对准位置,然后在FDTD中设置以其中一个波导的基模为光源,向第二个波导中传输,使用监视器和模式扩展器查看了耦合到第二个波导基模的耦合效率;FDE计算的重叠积分和FDTD计算的耦合效率之间有误差,因为在文献中看到耦合损耗主要就是模式失配带来的,而模式失配可以用重叠积分计算。我想请问下这个误差是由于什么造成的呢?是因为这两个基模的有效折射率不匹配,带来了反射损耗吗?
因为在Lumerical的介绍FDE计算overlap的网页上,我注意到计算overlap的公式并没有包含折射率,而且网页中也提到了overlap的计算忽略了反射的问题。那么如果两个模式的有效折射率匹配,反射损耗几乎没有的情况下,那么是不是可以用FDE计算的overlap的结果去表示耦合损耗呢?

Ansys Employee原则上说,耦合效率与重叠积分并不是等同的,后者只是对前者的一个简单估计。两个基模的有效折射率不匹配,一般都会带来反射损耗。波导的反射不完全以来模式折射率,否则就可以用模式折射率计算反射透射没有必要仿真了。
我个人认为,仿真的耦合效率更可靠,你可以提高网格精度等来改善结果精度。一般精确到两位数就可以了,再高的精度可能没有必要。

Subscriber你好,FDE计算overlap,需要先放置一个波导,得到你想要的模式,然后将这个模式保存下来。再取消这个波导的显示,放置另一个波导,然后得到一个模式,再计算这个模式,和已保存模式的overlap。Lumercial官网中有相关样例,我记得。

Subscriber嗯嗯 是的 我后来看到了 但是有一个问题是 每个波导会有很多模式 对吧 你所说的 选择两个波导的基模 是指 模式编号为1的模式 吗?

Subscriber是的,一般前两个是TE基模和TM基模,区分方式就是看TE成分占比
