Subscriber您好,我设计了沿着传输方向上紧密相连的两个波导,现在尝试计算这两个波导基模之间的耦合效率。首先我使用FDE计算了重叠积分最大的对准位置,然后在FDTD中设置以其中一个波导的基模为光源,向第二个波导中传输,使用监视器和模式扩展器查看了耦合到第二个波导基模的耦合效率;FDE计算的重叠积分和FDTD计算的耦合效率之间有误差,因为在文献中看到耦合损耗主要就是模式失配带来的,而模式失配可以用重叠积分计算。我想请问下这个误差是由于什么造成的呢?是因为这两个基模的有效折射率不匹配,带来了反射损耗吗?

Ansys Employee重叠积分是一种简单快速评估耦合效率的指标,但并不等于真正的耦合效率,这两个结果有差别很正常。文献也都是泛泛而讲,并没有给出严格的数学推导和定义。你看看Overlap计算的推导过程,看看有什么假设,再与EME方法比较。有效折射率并不能精确计算反射率,否则就不要重叠积分或者再仿真耦合效率了。
