Flow development

      Hi,

While I am simulating gas flow through an annulus area in transient mode, I can expect flow development over the time. But getting results as showing in the image which should not expected. What could be the reason?

I have used mass flow inlet and mass flow outlet BC. In steady state mode, getting the expected result.

Mass in and mass out is a really bad idea as you won't be able exactly match the flows. Mass in pressure out or for incompressible flow velocity in & pressure out are better.

As I have no idea what you're showing or whether the system is converged I can't comment on the images.

I am using the compressible solver as gas supply pressure is too high (20 bar). I want to look the plume trajectory.

      System is converging perfectly.

OK, but you still need a pressure boundary to let the mass conservation equations work correctly. Your result could be a function of the flow trying to spread out due to the downstream boundary condition.
