SubscriberHi, I'm trying to write udf to determine the thickness of deposition. Knowing the rate of deposition, how to write udf to visualize the thickness growth . I tried both DPM erosion and species model but not sure how to convert the fluid cells to solid. Please advice. thanks

Ansys EmployeeDo you want to alter the flow, or is the deposition thin enough that you just need to know how thick it is?

SubscriberHi Rob, thanks for the reply. I need to know the thickness of the deposit and its influence on the flow. The deposit thickness will be high enough to affect the low. For that I'm looking to modify the DPM particle (or the fluid cell) near the solid wall to stick to wall as solid.

Ansys EmployeeOK. I'd look at the moving mesh in that case. Switching cells from fluid to solid isn't easy and will give a sudden jump in the surface. For info the DPM particles don't occupy any volume from the fluid point of view so won't do what you want it to.
