      Hi,

I'am setting up a WVD environment with Windows 10 21h1 with a NVIDIA Tesla M60 as videocard, Fluent 2021 R2 is installed.

After starting Fluent 2021 R2 the Fluent Launcher starts, after choosing Start i see 5 seconds a splash screen of Ansys 2021 and then the application crashes. Can't find any application logfiles in %TEMP% or C:windows emp or other folder. There is also nothing in de Event Viewer logs.

Where to find the logfiles? Can this application work on a Windows Virtual Desktop?

      THNX!

Check the working folder for a trn file, that may show something but tends to need the solver to start to give anything. Can you post a screen shot of the Fluent launcher panel?

      Thanks for your reply Rob.
There is nothing in the Working directory. Created for test a other folder but the folder remains empty.
Working folder is the same as the Working directory?

Correct, can you confirm the userID is all letters/numbers with no "odd" characters? What are the parallel settings?

The UserID is in this case only with a underscore like: 'ADM_name". But in other cases there is no underscore in the UserID. Also tested with "C:\temp\ansys" as working dir (full permissions).

There are 2 IP Interfaces to select; 127.0.01 (localhost) and host IP. Also tested with the other parallel settings.

No, it'll need or 's input - I drive the software, they understand how to make it work.

      thanks for your reply!
Tried al the 3 options but it still crashes at startup.
After installing the Microsoft lookback adapter, the adapter get's no IP because there is no DHCP server. So its getting 169.x.x.x, is that a problem?
In our environment its also not possible to automate the installation of the Microsoft loopback adapter.

Next i would check the Graphics card and driver.
What graphics card do you have and make sure that the driver is up to date.
