SubscriberHello!
When I am installing the ANSYS student package on my computer, it does not include the Fluent application. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it many times, including using the option of "Run as Administrator". Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

SubscriberIt shows up in workbench and I have used it there, but there is no standalone program...? Just wondering as a colleague of mind can run Fluent without opening the workbench.

Ansys EmployeeI see. So, you meant there is no shortcut.
Are you using Windows 10 ? If so, there is this bug that you can't have more than 512 shortcuts in your machine; otherwise, it won't show some shortcuts.
You can check how many shortcuts you have by right click on C:ProgramDataMicrosoftWindowsStart MenuPrograms then select 'Properties' and see how many Files you have in that folder.
Thanks,
Win

SubscriberInteresting, I have less than 512 files and it still does not show up.
On another note, I have another question if that's possible: when I open up workbench, choose Fluid Flow (Fluent) as a project schematic, and try to click on Geometry to open SpaceClaim, it just says "Starting SpaceClaim" but nothing ever opens. What is the solution to this? It was working fine yesterday. Thank you!

Ansys EmployeeTry this
Go to (default) C:Program FilesANSYS IncANSYS Studentv1xx
then right click on ProductConfig.exe and select 'run as admin' -> Configure Products & CADs -> select all -> Next
Does it show fluent shortcut now ?
If SpaceClaim worked earlier, try opening CMD Prompt, then issue the following 3 commands
move %appdata%ansys %appdata%ansys.old
move %appdata%spaceclaim %appdata%spaceclaim.old
move %localappdata%spaceclaim %localappdata%spaceclaim.old
Thanks,
Win

SubscriberI am unable to use those commands in CMD Prompt. It states that "The syntax of the command is incorrect." For reference, I am using Windows 10.
As for Fluent, I tried the ProductConfig.exe file as admin but still cannot see Fluent as a standalone application.

Ansys Employeeplease post the screenshots of the issue in the CMD Prompt.
Also, type 'set' (without quote ' ') and post the screenshot of the output of this
Thanks,

Ansys EmployeeYour username has space in it. This may not work well with some parts of ANSYS (the product configurations for Fluent might be one of them).
But you can just try with these commands for now
move "%appdata%ansys" "%appdata%ansys.old"
move "%appdata%spaceclaim" "%appdata%spaceclaim.old"
move "%localappdata%spaceclaim" "%localappdata%spaceclaim.old"
Thanks,
Win
