SubscriberGood day, I would like to know how to fix error saying "Generating interfaces did not produce any contact pairs. If you expected contacts to be generated, please check that you are using a valid geometry, and try modifying the tolerance or detection settings." Please see attached file for the geometry. Thank you.🛈 This post originally contained file attachments which have been removed in compliance with the updated Ansys Learning Forum Terms & Conditions -

Ansys EmployeeGood day,
I see the Spaceclaim file which you have shared has Shared Topology activated. Shared Topology is supported by Ansys products like Ansys Fluent or Ansys Mechanical, but are not supported in Ansys Discovery AIM. This is the reason you are not getting any contacts, since you have merged the contact faces by shared topology into a single face. I believe the mesh issue is also due to Shared Topology.
I will suggest to import a model in AIM without any Shared Topology performed in SpaceClaim, or better import the original CAD model. Then once in AIM, define bonded contacts where you want model to be welded/bonded.
Regards,
Mohib

SubscriberGood day,
I would like to know how to connect bodies/faces in ANSYS AIM as welded or bolted.
Do you have videos/tutorials regarding this concern?
Thank you.

Ansys EmployeeHi THPAL Engineering , You can find couple of videos (1 & 2) which show how to define contacts including bonded contacts & frictional contacts (bolted) in AIM. Once you define a bonded contact at a location, it assumes the model to be glued/welded at that location. For bolted contact, you can choose frictional or frictionless or no separation contact based on your requirement. https://discoveryforum.ansys.com/t/x15k18 Regards, Mohib
