You can go through Maxwell getting started guides to understand the workflow of Maxwell simulation. Those guides can be found by the following path:
Also, you can run a simulation of the inbuilt example file 'Synchronous generator' which can be found by the following path: Open examples >Maxwell>ElectricMachines>SynchronousGenerator.
