gradual heat flow rate development

  I would like to ask about this matter specifically. So I have a cylinder surface ( the heat source) linked to a set of heatsinks. I am struggling to assign the heat to the cylinder such that it moves to the heatsinks and eventually the air. the cylinder and the heatsinks are enclosed by a housing. What can I do to illustrate a developing heat flow from the source to the flow?
