SubscriberDear ANSYS admins,
I am a staff at the University, we have official licensing both in HPC and desktop computers.
Could you guide me as to whether my official ANSYS license Fluent / Workbench / Mechanical support up to 24 Cores CPU for parallelisation in pre-processing, processing (solving) and postprocessing on a desktop computer? Example of hardware: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X Gen3 24 Core TRX4 CPU/Processor.
I would need to gain speed in meshing (workbench setting).
Thanks. I look forward to hearing back from you.
Best wishes,

Ansys EmployeeThe base software should work for 4 cores, beyond that you will need HPC licences. For 24 cores you'd need two packs (which would give you up to 36 cores). However, parallel meshing speed up only really works if you have multiple disconnected parts, so you may, or may not see much improvement with parallel meshing.
