SubscriberHello, This is my first post and I could really use some help. I am new to finite element modeling and I am working with a helmet mesh.
For a project, I need a specific helmet mesh to be able to run in Velodyne. The mesh is in LS-Dyna and LS-Prepost however when I run a simulation in Velodyne the helmet's faceguard is not there and the element types are not supported.
If anyone knows of anything that can help me through this I would greatly appreciate it! I have been stuck in this state for a few weeks now and no one at my University is working with what I am.

Ansys EmployeeHello Caleb,
Thanks for posting on the forum. I suggest you start with a simple model and compare the input files between Velodyne and LS-DYNA to see how different the format between the two is. You will also need to check Velodyne's manual for the available element formulations.
For getting familiar with LS-DYNA, there is a great selection of examples here:
https://www.dynaexamples.com/
The LS-DYNA manuals are located here:

Let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks
