SubscriberHi everybody,
I'm new on the forum. I use ansys 18.2. I've some question for my job.
I want to model a high speed train subgrade to see settlement of soil by train loads. To do this, what is the best analysis in ANSYS?
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards

SubscriberDear fstudent,
Please describe what type of license you are using at release 18.2. Is it a Student license, a Teaching license, a Research license or a Commercial license? Different license types have different limitations in the size of the model that the software will allow to solve.
Also please describe a bit more about your job.
Best regards,

SubscriberDear Sir,
I have a Student license of release 18.2. This job will be a part of Project in the future. I will try to model a 3D section of high speed railway subgrade (including rail, sleeper, ballast layer, subbalast layer and subgrade) and when a train with different speeds passed to this section, i want to see settlement response of subgrade layer. My questions are;
1. Can i simulate this 3d section with student license?
2. What is the best analysis to see subgrade settlement under high speed train loads?
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards

SubscriberIf you are limited to a student license, you should consider doing a 2D model.
