SubscriberHello,I am currently doing some design space exploration studies for 2D CFD. To make this as efficient as possible, I want to automate the whole process from geometry generation to postprocessing. Currently, I am using a python script to a 2D point cloud which I red into SpaceClaim to generate a 2D surface. I want to be able to generate named selections. I know how to generate them:select the object, go to Groups and click Create Group. I found that this process works for 2D surfaces. However, this is a 2D study so all the boundaries are 1D lines and edges. When I use the same method to generate Named Selections for the edges, it creates the Named Selections in SpaceClaim however these are not propagated to Meshing. The 2D names selections, however, are present in Meshing.nI was wondering if there is something that I have have done incorrectly? Or is it not possible to generate a named selection by defining the edge?.Any help or guidance would be really appreciated!nnThanks!n -

Ansys EmployeeIf your geometry is 3D then NS for surfaces and bodies will be used. nIf your simulation is 2D then you can give named selection to edges. nRegards,nKeyurnHow to access Ansys Online Help DocumentnHow to show full resolution imagenGuidelines on the Student CommunitynHow to use Google to search within Ansys Student Communityn
