Do you want to assign properties of foam to spring? Also, can you share a snapshot of the problem that you want to model?

Yes, I want to assign foam properties to a spring. I have a Foam (shown in black). Its installed in a box (shown in red). there is no gap between the box and the foam. all sides they are touching. this is a top view that is shown below.
a right side view, shows the same foam being pressed down by a cover. so the cover will press onto the foam. i am trying to model this foam as a spring.
