How to actvate DL?

       hi

      I signed up for http://account.ansys.com/ , downloaded "aimscdiscovery_190_winx64.zip" and requested 15-days trial

Next i installed Discovery Live 19.0 from "aimscdiscovery_190_winx64.zip" (when installing I did not see anything similar to the configuration of the license)

When I run any of the Discovery Live 19.0 sortcut I get a message that "There are no current ANSYS subscriptions that enable capability ANSYS Discovery Live", although in my account I see that I have a trial

What is wrong? How to activate Discovery?

      Hello Lukash,

      Look in the folder:

      "C:Program FilesANSYS IncShared FilesLicensingwinx64"

If there's a file there called ansysls_client.config delete it.

        there is no ansysls_client.config there

the only one *.config file is C:Program FilesANSYS IncShared FilesLicensingansysli_data.config and it's empty

I use corporate proxy, incoming connections for ansysls_client.exe and ansysli_client.exe are allowed in firewall

Should I install ANSYS License server? As I understand trial DL uses subscription activations without using ANSYS License server

when running command "ansysls_client -ShowLicenseEntitlements" i see

      Hi Lukash,

It sounds like there may be a few potential causes for this problem.  Registration via proxy server is not something we tested, but in theory it should work.

The port number used during activation is 443

You may also want to try the following if you continue having problems:

      1. Launch the Windows Command Prompt from the start menu by entering “cmd” into the search field.

      2. In the command prompt, type in:

        cd C:Program FilesANSYS IncShared FilesLicensingwinx64

      3. Once in that directory, run the following command:

        ansysls_client -DeactivateAllEntitlements

      4. Then re-run the software and activate by logging in with your Discovery account credentials.

All ports (including 443) are opened for ansysls_client.exe and ansysli_client.exe

        1. Clear activation

        "C:Program FilesANSYS IncShared FilesLicensingwinx64ansysls_client" -DeactivateAllEntitlements

SUCCESS: All active license entitlements have been returned.

        2. Run DL

        "C:Program FilesANSYS Incv190SCDMSpaceClaim.exe" /RunApollo=true /UseSubscription=true

        3. Logging my subscriptions

        4. Got error "There are no current ANSYS subscriptions that enable capability ANSYS Discovery Live"

On My Subscriptions page I see

        Active

        for all products:

            Start date: 2018-02-01
            Expiration date: 2018-02-16
            Activation ID: Act-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

In Activations tables for all devices: "Unused" and knobs RELEASE are not active

        Which files from folders:

        C:UsersAppDataLocalTemp.ansys
        C:UsersAppDataLocal.ansys_licensing.activation

will help you identify the problem?

P.S. You said that host for subscription licensing is "ansys-fno.flexnetoperations.com", that host can not be pinged from my computer with DL installed

        C:UsersAdministrator>ping ansys-fno.flexnetoperations.com

The problem is definitely in the proxy server!

In the logs "licdebug.ANS365.190.out" and "licdebug.SPACECLAIM.190.out" there are records about problems with connect to the license server

I installed DL on a computer with direct Internet access (no proxy server) and the activation went without problems

But the GPU on that computer does not meet the requirements of DL, so the issue of the activation of DL on the computer with the proxy remains open

Due to the fact that the developers have not tested the activation via proxy, I have already spent half of the trial period without running the program

What is the point of giving trial if there is no way to use it?

      Hi Lukash,

We are working to resolve this issue.  In this case, it seems the process required to activate the software is being stopped before attempting to connect to our server.

Can you tell me if there are any major differences between the 2 PCs you tried this on?  Did the PC with a free internet connection have the same security settings as the other one as far as antivirus or anything of that nature?

Both computers Win 7 SP1 Pro (with proxy and without proxy) have the same configuration, security and antivirus settings.. Moreover disabling antivirus and Windows firewall on computer with proxy does not help
