How to avoid penetration problem due to joint?

      Hello everyone,

      I am trying to analyse a model with 2 blocks. 1 block is inclined and 1 block is wedge shaped as shown in file attached. The bottom face of lower block is fixed and frictional contact is provided with co-efficient of friction 0.65. 

      Joint is provided at inner edge of block and upper face of topmost block is loaded with inclined load as shown in file.

      There is undesired penetration in the block. I want to neglect the penetration from the analysis.

      Any help will be much grateful. Kindly help me with the problem.

      Hello jj77, I have attached my model with the post kindly check the model and let me know where I have gone wrong.


      There has to be frictional contact we can't define Bonded or No-separation contact.

       I want rotation at that edge hence I have provided edge joint there. Sliding of the edge is not acceptable.

      Also have in mind that this a student forum, and you are a working professional, so I do not think it is appropriate to post your models here. See posting guidelines for more info. There are other non-student forums for professionals where you might get some help with this.


       


      Perhaps someone working with ansys, could clarify if working professionals can ask questions submit models and ask for help in this forum.
