SubscriberHello all,
I am working on a rotordynamic model which contains shaft and impeller of the pump. The shaft is modeled as beam element and the impeller as solid. I need to connect the line body with the solid surface as a bonded contact. I have tried with sharing topology for the component in spaceclaim and using it in workbench. When I generate the initial contact results, it displays an error message as,
"At least one body has no elements in it. This may be due to mesh based defeaturing of the geometry. The offending bodies can be identified in the worksheet view on the Geometry folder and suppressed if desired."
I checked on the worksheet under Geometry and found that the line body has no nodes and elements created during meshing.
Does anybody know what is the reason for it?
I am attaching here the picture of the model for reference.
Thanks and regards,
Anuraj

Ansys Employee@anuraj92 nShared topology is not used for connecting solids and beams. nFor meshing, specify a sizing control on the beam and you can enter the number of divisions and then generate the mesh. See if it helpsnYou can either use bonded contact with MPC formulation or use fixed joints between the line body and the solid bodynViewing 1 reply thread- You must be logged in to reply to this topic.
