SubscriberI want to simulate movement of an object under water (sea), using multi-phase VOF method and open channel initialization. so i want to incorporate density stratification like in the actual sea
Thanks..

Ansys EmployeeYes you can do that with VOF and Open-Channel Flow but I do not understand the density stratification: Do you mean the density stratification Air/Water or the Density change of water due to temperature/pressure/salinity/depth..?

SubscriberThe 2nd one,Density change due temperature.. and how can i implement the the temperature difference in open channel..
Thanks.. -

Ansys EmployeeIf you define the density of water as temperature dependent then you will obtain a density stratification for the water. How to setup an open channel case can be checkedin Raef''s Tutorial :

SubscriberI know that density can be defined as a function of temperature. But how can i introduce that temperature difference to the water channel in my simulation
Thanks -

Ansys EmployeeYou mean you want to change the temperature with depth? You'll also need to set the inlet, and there are a few threads on here explaining the DEFINE_PROFILE UDF macro.
