HOW TO DECIDE THE TIME STEP FOR ICE SIMULATION BY FENSAP – ICE ?

      Hi everyone.

I am now using ANSYS FENSAP - ICE for ice simulation in an airfoil.

My model is NASA airfoil NACA0012, with 420s of glaze ice accretion.

Now i dont know how to decide the timesteps of ice accretion for my model.

I read the manual of FENSAP - ICE but it didnot mention about " how to decide ice simulation timesteps ".

I searched many thesis and found out that in LEWICE ( NASA ice simulation code ), they have a formula for timesteps of ice simulation.

Here is the picture of the formula.

      Hi Pham
Please use the auto time step. Ice3d will automatically calculate the time step during the 420 sec accretion. By default this option is always turned on. Thank you. By the way what release version are you using?
