How to determine the value of reference area for a 3D rocket nose cone?

      I have made a ogive 3D nose cone having a base diameter of 30 cm and height of nose cone is 40 cm with an extruded body with the same diameter as of the base. I want to find the coefficient of drag at different velocities using a transient table, but when the Mach reaches in supersonic region, the c_d increases rapidly and gives me a unrealistic value reaching upto 100. I am just confused whether I should take the projected area as the reference area or is it just the surface area of the whole body. Can someone please help me out?n

      Hello,nFor c_d, the projected area ( area projected in the direction of the flow) is used.
