How to fix error: Update failed for the Model component in explicit Dynamics?

  Hello,
  I am trying to open a Key file in ANSYS using the external model, but I keep on getting this error for the model component, how can I fix that?

  nThe error says No elements.nOpen the k file in LS-PrePost and see what that shows.n

  I did open LS-PrePost and it shows all the elements, this was the KEY file, what is the difference between a k file and a key file?n n
