How to generate randomly packed spheres in a channel in DesignModeler

      Dear CFD community,

I am trying to construct a 3D model of a packed bed, which is basically a channel contains randomly packed spherical particle as shown in the picture. These particles are solid and immobile in the channel. Is there any smart way to generate randomly packed spheres in a defined space in Ansys DesignModeler? Thank you for sharing any info or thoughts.

      Best,

      Jesse

This may require scripting. nIn SpaceClaim you can create sphere and copy or pattern it. nAlso for meshing you will need to see that you modify the geometry at location where two spheres meet. You should remove sharp angles for meshing. It is tricky. nRegards,nKeyurnGuidelines for Posting on Ansys Learning ForumnHow to access ANSYS help linksnn
