SubscriberHi everyone, I am performing a normal static structural simualtion and want to see the principle stress values. If we assume that the maximum principal stress is Tensile and Min principal Stress is compressive, then what do the negative and positive values in both the results specify. Please find below screenshot for your refrence.
Kind regards

SubscriberUse the maximum value of the Maximum Principal Stress to compare with an Ultimate Tensile Strength material property.
Use the minimum value of the Minimum Principal Stress to compare with an Ultimate Compressive Strength material property.
Ignore the minimum value of the Maximum Principal Stress.
Ignore the maximum value of the Minimum Principal Stress.

SubscriberHi Peter
Thanks for your reply. Could you also give some reasoning or literature for considering only the values which you have mentioned.
Kind regards
