How to merge bodies for meshing. (student)

  I intend to do a strength assessment on the bike handle, however I'm unsure on how to merge the different sections for optimal meshing. The part is initially a .step file imported into design modeller. I tried merging it on SolidWorks, but that wouldn't work either.

  Hello,
  Maybe you can try "Share Topology" option in the CAD editor. This way the surfaces or lines touching eaching other will share nodes when a mesh is created.
