SubscriberFor solver mode, there are "live" and "batch" types. How to use the mode "batch"?
Can I see the solve status when use "batch" mode?

Ansys EmployeeHello Frank The Batch option can be set from PHYSICS > SOLVER OPTIONS > LAUNCH CONTROLSWith Live option, the solver runs in RPC mode. It is run as a server and clients may communicate to the solver while it is running. The solver can also run in Batch mode, which is typical of running from a command line. In this mode, ANSYS AIM is not communicating directly with the solver, but communicates instead through input and output files. In Batch mode, the convergence plots are not displayed.

SubscriberNaresh Patre thank you very much!
there is a question when I change the solver mode.
The physics can not be solved, and the error is shown as below:
"Unable to connect to the solver in live mode. Look at the output file or transcript for details"
And the transcript is empty. when i change the solve mode to batch, there are still error "update failed for the solve physics component in study. the solution task update failed."
what should I do?

Ansys EmployeeFrank Do you have Workbench R19 installed on your machine? If this is the case, then you might get the error that you mentioned. This error is occurring due to some environment variables. To overcome this issue, change environment variables as mentioned below:
Start -> Right Click on My Computer/This PC -> Properties -> Advanced System Settings -> Environment Variables
In the bottom pane, locate AWP_ROOT190
Select it and click Edit.
Change the variable value to:
C:Program FilesANSYS Incv190 (or the directory where Workbench is installed)
Click Ok,
Similarly, locate ANSYS190_DIR and change value to:
C:Program FilesANSYS Incv190ANSYS (or the directory where Workbench is installed)
click Ok.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue.

SubscriberNaresh Patre the problem is solved by this setting, thank you very much!
another questions:
1. Is the discovery AIM supported the remote solve manager(RSM) when submit the analysis?
2. The help of ANSYS workbench can not connect to the local file in ANSYS helpvier.exe when the help configuration tool is changed to local help address.(Help is installed in local)
Thank you!

Ansys EmployeeFrank Glad to know that the problem is solved by changing the environment variables.
Regarding your questions:
1. RSM is currently not supported with Discovery AIM
2. I would request you to submit a request through ANSYS Customer Portal for Help issue

SubscriberNaresh Patre Thank you for you answers!
In topology analysis of discovery AIM, could the shape of topology results be export as .step or .iges file for CAD?
And how to show the contour results of the element density for topology results?
Thanks!

SubscriberNaresh Patre There is another question about the shape generation in topology analysis.
when the "smooth shape(beta)" is opened, the update is failed when this option is selected. The error show that "update failed for the shape exploration component in study. error running in smoothing script"(the elelment type for tetrahedron and hexahedron are all tried).

Ansys EmployeeFrank When you click "Export New Model" from Shape task, the optimized as well as original geometry will appear in a new geometry task. You can edit this geometry and then export the optimized model.
