Hydrostatic Fluid Element

      Hi All,

I tried to apply hydrostatic fluid element in my modal analysis simulation. See below how the "Details of Hydrostatic Fluid Element" displayed.

For the 'Hydrostatic Fluid Outer Boundaries', you should select the wetted surfaces of the solids and for the 'Hydrostatic Fluid Bodies', you should choose the solids which will enclose the fluid element.

I have checked all the drop down list, i cannot find "wetted surface " for Hydrostatic Fluid Outer Boundaries.
Also, i cannot find "solid" to chose from upon clicking on Hydrostatic Fluid Bodies.
      Please i need your further.

      Thanks
      Inima

If there's anyway i can send the file across, pls let know. You can have a proper look and also set up the Hydrostatic Fluid very well. Some functions are deactivated.
      Thanks

I meant the wetted surfaces are those to which fluid is touching. Solids are those bodies which encloses the fluid.

Are you referring to the geometry immediately below "scoping method"?
What i did was selecting the internal faces and applied for Hydrostatic Fluid Outer boundaries" and that gave me 13 faces. GUI allows you to select each one face after the other.
However, for "Hydrostatic fluid bodies" , the GUI selects the entire geometry at a time. As a result i am not able to select each phase at a time. I don't know if this what you meant in your message above. I would if you can demonstrate this and send a screen shot. It will be very helpful.

      Thanks

i came across an interesting topic (How to calculate time step size in ansys transient structural) you dealt with. It was quiet helpful. I have to suspend my transient structural simulation when i read your contributions because i was having time step error issue as well.
Anyway, my suspending transient structural wasn't deliberate. I was having issues with modal analysis using ACT hydrostatic fluid element. I want to introduce fluid in my model using the ACT Hydrostatic element but having some challenges. I have tried to explain the issue with some pictures above. Please i will need your help.
      Thanks
