SubscriberHello everyone,
I have a tank which is partially filled with oil (the rest is air) and when i use the top surface as pressure outlet/open BC then it shows the right pressure on the lower wall due to the weight of the fluid (540 Pa in this case). I am using 101325 reference pressure at (0,0,0) reference location.
But the problem is that when i use the top surface as a wall so it is closed from everywhere then it shows different pressure like (45 Pa) and the operating conditions are same as above. If anyone has any idea what the problem is then please help me in this regard. Thank you in advance. Have a nice day.

AdministratorHello When you use the pressure boundary condition, it is applying the correct pressure that air exerts on oil. Please look into a Fluid Statics course to understand the overall pressure balance on your fluid. You can check out our Ansys Innovation Course (AIC) on this very topic.

Ansys EmployeeHi Burhanibrar
Can you elaborate more about what you are modeling? Why is the domain closed from all sides?
