I am not sure about the nature of “Explicit Dynamics”

I am told that for my project (Cerebrum and Cranium Ballistics), the best tool is Explicit Dynamics. Does that tool:

       - Implement FEA?
       - Implement CFD?
       - Both of the above?

      TIA,

Read this brochure from 2011 which describes what is available in the free Student License you can download from the link at the top of this page.

ANSYS recently acquired one of the best Explicit Dynamics software companies that make the LS-DYNA software.

Explicit Dynamics implements FEA methods, but includes the ability to do some computations the way a CFD code would by using Eulerian frame of reference.
