SubscriberHFSS gives the E field over a structure as a complex number at a given phase and frequency. Since you can choose the phase and frequency of the field you want to view, what does the imaginary component of E represent? Is it a global phase? Or is it the complex conjugate part of the field expression as in the below picture?

Subscriberboth your statements are right. at certain moment of visualization time the phase is global for all the postprocessed data.nthe data that was solved in frequency domain has to time-variant exponent, thus the relative changes in the field phase along the structure reflect the wave phase delay.
