Important Parameters

      Hi everyone,

How should I know what are the most important physical parameters or data when I want to simulate transient structural analysis with several materials?

I know this is a very general question, but I'm afraid my numeric model won't be accurate enough.

      Thanks

      Hello Dor,

A transient structural analysis can be either linear or nonlinear. All types of nonlinearities are allowed - large deformations, plasticity, contact, hyperelasticity, and so on. A transient dynamic analysis is more involved than a static analysis because it generally requires more computer resources and more of your resources, in terms of the "engineering" time involved. You can save a significant amount of these resources by doing some preliminary work to understand the physics of the problem. For a better understanding, go through this ansys help document link:

If you're not sure whether your results are not accurate, there are methods to verify the same. Have a look at this Ansys Innovation Course.

      Regards,

      Nanda.

Thank you Nanda. For some reason the first link is not working. May I ask for a new link?

      Hi Dor,

      Transient Structural Analysis (ansys.com)

If you are using student version, here's how you can access the Ansys Online Help from within the Ansys Student products:

      1. Open Ansys Workbench (or any other Ansys product) and go to Help > Ansys Workbench Help. A browser window will open.
      2. Copy the link to the Ansys Online Help from the post on the Ansys Learning Forum.
      3. Paste the link into the address bar of the browser window opened in step 1, and you'll be able to access the desired page.

      Best regards,

      Nanda.
